Large Four Drawer Chest - Lovely Style - circa 1860
This Victorian mahogany chest is a lovely size and offers excellent colour and condition.
With moulded and shaped top over figured and canted front corners top decorated with a scroll carved capital this chest has a very appealing style and is far removed from the usual chests of this period.
The drawer layout with two smaller drawers above two full width ones makes the piece very practical (see images for the full drawer dimensions).
To the top there is a fine deep top with moulded edge - this is repeated at the base with an angled skirt with cross-banded veneer.
The piece rides upon a chamfered plinth with cross-banded veneer and original solid turned bun feet.
Overall this piece of furniture is in excellent condition.
A brilliant chest which displays wonderfully and which could live comfortably in any room of the house.
