Antique Boxwood & Ebony Carved Staunton Style Chess Set C.1900

Description

Dating to around 1900, this late Victorian or Edwardian carved chess set is a good size and each piece weighted for a good solid feel, the undersides with green felt of baize covering.

The set is complete and comes with it's dark wooden storage box unusually with a divider in the centre.

The interior base is signed in two places, one side GRV & R.Palmer under a crown and the other side O.S . under a crown. The king measures 3 1/4" tall and the box, 7" x 5" x 3" tall. Excellent condition.
