Stunning Intricately Inlaid Antique English Rosewood Glove Box C.1870

Description

Stunning!! I have had boxes with this exquisite intricate in larger sizes, Jewellery boxes or writing boxes but never have I seen a domed glove box with this fine work.

Created from a rich deep toned Rosewood, exotic and expensive; and extensively inlaid with engraved brass, fine brass stinging, Mother of Pearl and Abalone shell.

Re-lined inside with a hand-marbled paper creating a clean finish, ready for use.

The lock is not working but I have added a tassle to the key, which now makes a great display and finishes off the piece.

Excellent condition, measuring 10 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 3 1/8" tall to top of the domed lid.
