Chest of Drawers Rare Apothecary Chemist Drawers C1840 Fresh to Market

Here we have a very rare bank of Apothecary drawers which are completely fresh to the market. The drawers have been obtained from a chemist where they have been since 1896. Previous to this they were fitted in a chemist on the opposite side of the road since around 1840. They have been in a loft above the chemist shop for about thirty years. Further provenance can be given to the buyer. As you can see the drawers have wonderful colour and patina. They retain their original glass knobs and most of the gilded labels with glass fronts these to are original. As you can also see these are superbly made and the best my restorer has ever seen. The drawers fronts are blond Mahogany and have fine hand cut dovetail joints. These are cabinet maker made having through joints on the ebonised sections between drawers. The whole carcass is dovetailed at all sides. These have not been messed about with simply polished sympathetically and given stands. The stands have been made by R Larwood cabinet maker and restorer who has a great pedigree often working for the National Trust. As you will know these drawers are extremely rare especially at this size being six feet wide. They have been made to be perfect sideboard height and are ready for your home.
