French Cockrell Mantel Clock

19th century
Description

A good quality mantel clock in mahogany with applied floral decorations. Brass bun feet and surmounted by a well cast gilded Cockrell perched on two books. A convex enamel dial with 5 minute outer markers and fine gilt hands. An 8-day duration mechanism by Japay Freres striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong. Circa 1895.
