Stunning Antique English Inlaid Harewood Tea Caddy C.1790

Description

A wonderfully decorative George III tea caddy made from exotic Harewood with the most exquisite and pretty inlay, a floral garland tied with a bow at the front and the lid with a continuous floral and foliate garland.

The lid is cross-banded in Kingwood and framed with Boxwood stringing. The interior is all original with the single oval tray which is the type that would sit on top of the loose tea leaves wherever that level may be at a given time.

Complete with a display key currently not working, the box is in superb condition. 5 3/4" x 3" x 4 5/8" tall. Dating to the late Eighteenth century, c.1790.
