Description

Japay Freres circa 1855. A calendar clock with rare feature of duplex escapement. A fully engraved gilded case with a solid back door. An enamel dial with subsidiary dials for alarm, days of the week and days of the month. Centre sweep seconds. An 8-day duration mechanism with 1/2 hour and hour bell striking and alarm feature. Push button repeating. Stamped with Japay mark and 'Medailles 1823-1849'.
