Description

A quite stunning miniature Napoleon III vitrine jewellery case, perfect to enjoy some very special gems while in there box though the original thick bevelled glass top.

The beautiful shaped body is covered in a red Tortoiseshell with a bright and lustrous patina. The entire box including the legs are created from cast gilt bronze.

The interior has been professionally and sympathetically re-lined in a cream coloured silk Moire of Taffeta.

The underside is lucky enough to retain the original retailer's label: Maison A. Giroux / Paris / Bronzes, Fantaisies / Jouet D'Enfant.

A luxurious box in excellent condition. The lid measuring 7 1/2" x 5 3/4" x 5 1/4" tall.
