Antique Oak Chair - Fabulous Styling - c1880
This Oak Elbow chair is a magnificent shape and is presented in excellent condition.

A comfortable upholstered seat is supported by a continuous rear leg which flows through to the splendidly shaped and ballooning rear top rail with carved leaf detail. Between the upper and lower rails a bakers dozen of inverted tear-drop spindles are present. This spindle styling is repeated on the under-arm supports behind a primary front turned spindle.

Wide supporting arm rests combine with a good seat height (45cm or 17.7" - see images for full dimensions) to make this an excellent choice as a regular daily use chair for reading, fireside, study or kitchen.

The chair rides upon turned tapering legs to the front which terminate in a lightly out-turned foot. The legs are joined on all sides by stretcher bars for extra robustness and durability.
The oak is a pleasing and consistent colour showing good levels of grain.

This chair will make a charming addition to any home and is a lovely piece to own.
