Pretty Antique English Silver Plated Basket - Registration Diamond - 1866

Description

As pretty as a picture, a Victorian handled basket, useful for almost anything.

The shaped silver plated basket, is beautifully decorated with pierced or reticulated border and a repousse garland with floral motifs, quite stunning.

The underside has some lovely markings, the registration diamond, allowing us to date the date the basket's design was registered, October 19th 1866. There is a also the figural makers mark for Smith Sissons & Company.

Excellent condition, measuring 12" x 9 1/2" x 10" tall to top of swing handle.
