Antique English Tunbridge Ware Box with Stag C.1860

Description

A charming example of an English Rosewood & Tunbridgeware Jewelry or table box dating to around 1860, Victorian in era.

The top has a wonderful scene of a Stage in a woodland setting, very English (or Scottish) indeed. This figural scene is framed by a geometric band, with a complimentary border running around the sides of the box.

The interior has been professionally re-finished in a hand-marbelled paper, creating a fresh clean finish, ready for use.

Complete with a working tasseled key, the box remains in excellent condition. 9" x 6" x 2 1/2".
