This is an absolutely stunning and very original example of the legendary calibre 321 Omega Speedmaster the exact same model and specification as used by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and all of the other great Apollo astronauts.
The dial is totally original and has not been refinished or repainted, it is the original Pre Pro dial correctly lacking the word professional and with the raised silver Omega logo.
The hands have been replaced during the recent overhaul but the original ones have been retained and will be sent with the watch so that they can be refitted if you desire total originality.
The glass has been replaced with a new one from Omega and has the correct very small Omega logo to the centre.
The bezel is original and has a few minor scratches as you can see, but considering the age is in remarkable condition.
The hand winding cal 321 movement is an absolute gem, sparkling clean and in like new condition. It has just undergone a full professional overhaul and all chronograph functions work perfectly, this is a movement from the golden age of swiss watchmaking and is considered to be far superior to all later speedmaster movements.
The winding crown is original with the smaller Omega logo found on early speedmasters.
The watch is fitted to a top quality genuine black sharkskin strap but will be supplied with its original 19mm 1035 bracelet, the bracelet looks as if it has only been used for a very short time all of the spring links are in good working condition. Most unusually it still has all of the original links, because of this this watch will fit a wrist of upto 9 inches in diameter.
As you would expect from Omega the watch is fully marked on the dial, crown, case, movement and folding clasp of the strap
This is the most desireable version of the Omega Speedmaster, you could say it's the E Type Jaguar of Vintage watches.
It comes complete with its original red box, the hinges are a little weak and the box does not snap shut like it should but other than that its in very good condition.
The cal 321 speedmaster is a legend and will only increase in value especially as we get closer to the 50th aniversary of the first moon landing.
With the original bracelet fitted it fits a maximum wrist size of 9 inches and the case measures 39mm in diameter not including the crown.
The watch has just been fully serviced by the respected Rolex and Omega authorised agent Robert Reeves MBHI and is guaranteed to be a genuine Omega in all respects. This watch has been fully and professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
The watch is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers original parts. every part is then throughly cleaned in a 3 stage ultasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturer approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The watch movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are cleaned and polished and the watch sealed, in the case of waterproof watches a full waterproof presure test is carried out to manufacturers specification.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give reliable and dependable service and will not require any further attention for many years.
The watch movement comes with a full 1 year warranty.
