Description

A wonderful early nineteenth century Mahogany Jewellery or table box, dating to around 1830 as useful today as almost 200 years ago.

The corners are brass bound with quality screwed construction, in a campaign or military style, there is a square inset brass escutcheon housing the tasselled key (as many of these period locks, it is temperamental and really for decorative purposes).

The top is inlaid with stunning cut brass decoration, highly sought-after and really very handsome.

The interior has been beautifully re-lined with hand-marbelled paper, creating a wonderful clean finish.

Excellent condition, measuring 11" x 8" x 4 1/4".
