Fabulous Antique English Cake Stand in Silver Plate C.1910

Description

A wonderful Edwardian cake stand, very popular currently with the craze for home baking and particularly cup cakes!

This three tier example has the three original graduated dishes or plates, each with a pierced or reticulated border with a stylized leaf design intertwined with a fine rope. These three dishes sit in a very stylish stand, with a definite Art Nouveau flair. The stand is marked by the maker on the underside and EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.

It's rather nice that the three plates each are stamped with the English design registration number 559413 which allows us to date it to 1910.

The stand is solid and in fine condition as are the three plates. The stand measures 15" tall to top of decorative handle and the baskets with diameters measuring 8 7/8", 7" & 5". Enjoy afternoon tea in style!
