Georgian English Mahogany Tea Caddy with Shell & Roundel Inlay C.1810

Description

A very handsome antique English single compartment tea caddy with a cantered lid with Boxwood stringing outlining this attractive shape.

Dating to the very early 19th century, George III in period, the caddy is made from Mahogany with highly desirable inlays, a shell to the top and a roundel to the front.

The front also boasts an Ivory diamond shaped escutcheon which houses the working key.

Once opened, the interior of the lid reveals the original paper lining. The lid has a turned Ivory knob to the top.

Excellent condition, measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 4 7/8" tall.
