Wonderful Antique English Brass Figural String Box - Oak Leaf & Acorn C.1880

Description

A really fabulous and most unusual example, the like of which I haven't had before. Made from solid English brass, this Victorian string dispenser is created in the from of an Oak Leaf with a large Acorn where the string is stored and dispensed.

Beautifully cast, the top of the acorn is removed unscrewed to refill the box with string. A most unusual desk-top accessory, perfect for the kitchen too.

Excellent condition, a few tiny dents to the acorn lid (insignificant but mentioned purely for accuracy). The length of the leaves and branch measures 6 3/4" in length; the leaves measuring 4" wide and standing 3 3/4" tall.
