Description

A wonderful quality Victorian revolving butter dish with the circular domed top beautifully engraved. The front of the dome is lucky enough to have a stamped English design registration diamond or lozenge which allows us to date the design to 2nd April 1876.

The dish stands on four highly decorative figural legs and the top of the stand beautifully cast. Between the legs there are cast floral and foliate garlands ... exceptional.

The foliate or shell lift at the front is used to easily roll back the top to reveal an original white opaline glass butter dish.

Elegant and very usable, excellent condition, measuring 6" x 6" and 6" tall.
