Brass Faced Oak Longcase Clock by John Cain Luton.

Description

JOHN CAIN of LUTON,

A LATE 18TH CENTURY OAK AND CROSSBANDED LONGCASE CLOCK,

The case with a later plinth, having a moulded pediment over plain flank pilasters with brass capitals, waist panelled door with arched and crossbanded decoration upon a box base with chamfered corners and later plinth,

The eight day mechanism with anchor escapement and rack bell strike, faced by a 12 brass dial with cast and applied spandrels, silvered Arabic and Roman chapter, subsidiary seconds and calendar,

Height - 2.15mhigh

Ttis clock does require some restoration and if required can be carried out in our workshops and to a very high standard?
