Description

An Elegant, slim London longcase clock. A mahogany case with an arched cresting and 3 brass finials. Brass stopped fluted hood columns and side sound fretwork. An arched trunk door, re-entrant base panel moulding and double skirt plinth base. An arched painted dial with strike/silent to the arch. Seconds and date dials with gilt brass hands. An 8-day duration mechanism with 5 pillars striking the hours on a bell.

Thomas Hailes of London is recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1769-1778. He is noted as working at Huggin Lane.
