Fabulous Antique French Lady's Travel Companion with Two Perfume Bottles C.1860

Description

Dating to around 1860, this wonderful cylindrical lady's companion is created from leather with gilded fittings including the clasp to the front which keeps it tidily shut.

Once the clasp is released, the cylinder opens to reveal a blue silk lined interior fitted with a variety of sewing accessories including steel instruments and cut bone thread winders.

Each end is a caddy holding a cut crystal scent bottle with gilded hinged lid which once opened reveal that they both retain their original cut crystal stoppers, most unusual and quite wonderful.

The interior also is lucky enough to retain it's wonderful original maker's label Maison Alph:Giroux / Paris. 8" in length while closed.
