Antique French Brass Inlaid Glove Box C.1860 - Tulipwood

Description

You need to look closely at this superb French box with it's intricate and fine work. All sides are inlaid with fine brass stringing to create panels using the exotic wood in an alternative direction.

The top of course is where the box really comes into it's own and stands out from the crowd with fine inlay creating with many panels including floral and foliate motifs.

The front of the box is beautifully shaped and once opened, reveals it is a highly desirable hinged fall-front, which houses the working taselled key. The top of the lid is mounted with a glamorous brass edging.

Excellent condition, measuring 10 3/8" x 4" x 3" tall.
