Rare Antique English Ram's Horn & Silver Plate Inkwell by Walker & Hall

Description

Dating to the late Victorian or early Edwardian period, around 1900, this magnificent inkwell has been created by one of Sheffield's most famous silversmith's, Walker & Hall.

A very fine example, the horn tips are mounted with engraved silver plated tips complimenting the grand engraved double inkwell in the centre. To the front of the inkwell is a cast Stag's head and a hoof foot supporting this fine desk set.

The domed lids open to reveal the original two ink chambers within. The interior of both lids is where the maker's marks can be found.

Excellent condition, minimal wear to original plate, a good untouched patina. Spanning 19" wide x 7" at deepest point x 8 1/2" at tallest point.
