Beautiful Antique English Tunbridge Ware Glove Box C.1850

Description

A really stunning example with a highly desirable domed cushion lid and shaped sides.

Created from exotic Rosewood, the top of the lid sports a stunning floral panel then a geometric tessalated border framing the lid. All sides too are decorated with floral panels and the sides of the lid with another geometric border.

The box comes complete with a working replacement key. Once opened, the original blue silk has been retained lining the lid. The box itself has been re-lined with a hand-marbled paper, perfectly in keeping and creating a good clean finish ready for use.

Excellent condition, measuring 10" x 4" x 3" tall.
