Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.

The catch at the front works perfectly opening to reveal the original fitted leather interior with a section either side to fit a modern day business or credit card, so usable should you wish to put it to use. The front of the left hand side has two integral postage stamp compartments. The case comes complete with a propelling pencil in working order.

The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, Victorian in era. The makers initials CES are present for the silversmith, Charles Edward Soloman.
