Description

The Engsi was the door-hanging at the entrance to the Turkmen Yurt - hung on the inside. This lovely antique piece has glorious natural colour with a predominance of madder-red and made by the Tekke tribes during the second half of the 19th century. The rug has been washed; has had a number of small reweaves and is now in good condition.

Size: 1.52m x 1.27m (5' 0" x 4' 2").
