Beautiful French gilt bronze ormolu four glass empire clock c1825

It is known as a four glass empire clock as there are 4 beveled edge glass panels to all sides which enables you to look at the fabulous movement.
It has the most stunning gilt case which made of true fire gilt ormolu bronze and is not gilt base metal as most of these clocks tend to be.
The gilding is bright and crisp and in exceptional condition.
The original dial bezel is beautifully carved and gilded a true work of art.
The beautiful French movement is of very high quality with silk suspension and an outside countwheel, as you would expect it is fully marked Chappe Paris. It runs for a full 8 days and keeps excellent time.
The movement is in excellent condition having just been fully overhauled by the highly respected clockmaker Philip Gale FBHI and comes with a 12 month warranty.
A stunningly beautiful clock in exceptional condition which will give great pleasure for many years to come.
It strikes on the hour and half hour on a small bell.
This clock has obviously been highly prized and looked after over the last 180 years and is a credit to its previous owners.
