Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.
A.O.B. in 1881.

The handles are formed by two grand cast Stag heads, beautifully executed, the wonderful figural legs are finished with hoof feet. The domed lid is topped with a Fawn on the top acting as a handle to remove the lid. The interior is beautifully gilded.

I came across the ladle separately but was delighted that the classic beaded pattern matched that surrounding the rim of the Tureen, so I have added this to the offering to complete the look.
Quite outstanding in every way, in excellent condition with the makers initials on the underside. 12 1/2" handle to handle x 10 1/2" tall to top of Fawn.
