Exceptional Victorian Oak Cased Westmonster Chiming Fusee Bracket Clock C1900

1900 - 1920
Description

Professionally restored and fully serviced with a 12 month warranty.

Exceptional English late Victorian Westminster chiming twin fusee bracket clock c1900

This is an incredible large English oak bracket clock, the case is quite outstanding, made of quarter sawn oak, it is in superb condition.

The original front glass door is set in a polished brass frame with a silver dial which is in perfect condition, apologies for the reflections you can see in the glass.

The clock is a Westminster chiming fusee clock which chimes on the quarter and half hours and strikes on the hour on a very large main gong, it has a wonderful mellow chime and resonates beautifully for well over one minute, it sounds divine. It also has a strike silent control.

The movement was probably made by Thwaites and Reed who were the premier makers at this time although it is not marked. As you can see from the pictures the quality of engineering is top drawer.

This is without doubt one of the finest English clock movements you will ever see.

The movement has just been fully serviced so is in tip top condition and will give trouble free service for many years to come, it is extremely heavy.

It is keeping accurate time to within 1 minute a week.

This clock has obviously been highly prized and looked after, the condition is a credit to its previous owners.

Overall this is a very fine and beautifully proportioned original English bracket clock and the size and proprtions makes it extremely desireable.

The clock movement comes with a full 12 month warranty.

Dimensions of clock: Height 16.5 inches Width at its widest part is 11.5 inches Depth 7.25 inches and the silver dial is 8 inches in diameter.
