Bergere Seated Early Victorian Chair - c1840

An attractive balloon back chair with charming style.

This pleasing chair is in solid condition throughout. It features a bergere seat which provides a comfortable seating experience.

It is a very attractive chair with the designer working hard to produce a chair of quality. Little details and indications of quality are abundant throughout the piece; triple turned front legs, double side stretchers, carved detail to the rear support, delicately tapered sweeping legs, and incredibly well crafted seat-back.

The back-splat is particularly interesting with it seeming to depict, through the hand carving, twin tentacles grasping at an apple.

Overall a nice antique chair suitable for a variety of locations.
