Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.

Beautifully executed each of the birds retain their original glass eyes. The inkwell retains it's original ink chamber. The other bird has a hinged lid, the box would have been used to store postage stamps and / or pen nibs.

All four corners retain the stands with original gilding used to rest one's dip pen. Another charming feature of the set is the two eggs attached to the base.
Excellent condition, a few bruises to the edges of the stone, normal and insignificant. The stand measures 7 1/4" X 7 1/4"; stands 6 1/2" tall to top of standing bird.
