Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1910s.
They are best known for the period of Albert Mayer, sculptor and designer, who was director of the WMF Art Studio from 1884 to 1914.

This fabulous silver plated on pewter wheelbarrow comes complete with it's original glass liner in unscathed condition (to be really fussy, if you run your finger along the ridge, there is one rough spot, insignificant).

In true Art Nouveau style, the sides are decorated with organic lines, surrounding a central shield shaped cartouche topped with a basket of Roses. Like the real object, when pushed along, the wheel turns.

The underside rim of the metal frame is where the marks can be found the arched mark dating it to around 1910, hard to read due to it's precarious positioning.
A fabulous piece in excellent condition, measuring 14" in length - handles to wheel x 5 3/4" wide at top of glass dish.
