Exquisite Antique Silver Plated Biscuit Box - Ivy Garlands - C.1860

Description

A wonderful Victorian biscuit box dating to around 1860. The box is beautifully engraved with panels created by Ivy foliate wreaths and garlands tied with ribbons; so very British and so Victorian.

The box stands on three beautiful cast feet supporting the integral pierced of reticulated tray. The hinge is in perfect working order and the lid fits well, the domed top is crowned with a finial in the from of a wheat sheaf.

Excellent condition measuring 8" high with the diameter of the stand measuring 7 1/4". The makers marks are present on the underside, but unidentified.
