Description

A Somerset mahogany longcase clock. Choice flame mahogany venners to the case with satinwood inlays. Twist hood and trunk columns with corinthium capitals. An arched hood pediment surmounted by 3 brass finials. A painted dial with country scenes. A date aperture and seconds dial. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

William Preddy of Totnes is recorded in Ponsfords' 'Devon Clockmakers' book as working in 1850.
