Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The slanted front is pulled down to reveal the original velvet cushion to accommodate two rings, the interior of the box is lined in the original pale blue silk.
The back of the box is where the full hallmark can be found which is rubbed but with this, the part hallmark on the drop-front and the English design registration number, the box can be dated to 1904 and assayed in the Birmingham assay office.
Quite wonderful in excellent original condition, measuring 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" x 1 5/8" to top of handle.
