This wonderful and grand pair of letter scales are by the very famous Sampson Mordan, the most highly sought-after maker, signed on the front, S.Mordan & Co. London.

The base is made from Mahogany and houses the set of seven solid cast weights including the small bell shaped one, often missing but present and correct in this case.

Dating to the Victorian era, around 1870, this is an impressive desk / office accessory, in superb polished condition. The base has a footprint measuring 12 1/2" x 6" x 5" tall.
