Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.
My silversmith and I think they are French in origin, the bases decorated with a Fleur de Lys motif. The arms have are covered in grapevines with a Cherub climbing up the sides.
You can see from the underside that my silversmith has had to replace one of the central fittings. A quite wonderful decorative pair of sticks in excellent condition.
The arms measure 6 1/4" wide from Cherub to furthest point x 7 1/2" tall.
