Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The blades and tines are silver plated marked EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.

The ferrules however are made from English sterling silver, each hallmarked for Sheffield 1899, making this a true Victorian set. The makers initials CB are also present.
The set comes complete with it's original Mahogany presentation box with a brass inlaid cartouche to the top, and is complete with working tasselled key.

The interior is quite stunning a wonderful vibrant Jewel-Toned purple colour, a combination of silk and velvet and in wonderful condition.
All excellent condition, the knives measuring 8" in length and the forks, 6 1/2" in length. The box measures 13" x 9" x 2 1/2" tall.
