Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The edges of the lid and base are crimped and the sides decorated with an embossed floral frieze and surrounding the cartouche, a really pretty floral and foliate panel in a very organic Art Nouveau form. The interior reveal s lavish gilded interior.

There is a full English silver hallmark for Birmingham 1902, making this an early Edwardian example. The makers initials A.W.P are also present for the silversmith, A.W. Pennington.
Excellent condition, weighing 1.42 Troy Ounces / 44.1 Grams. The base diameter measures 2 1/2" and stands 1 7/8" tall.
