Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.
All have the highly desirable Queen Victoria's Head duty mark. One has the date letter for Sheffield 1878 and the other five for 1880 - this is quite normal, the silversmith would have a stock of the fork ends all hallmarked and this earlier one would have turned up during the process of adding the handles and ferrules.

The handles are made from thick solid Mother of Pearl, with it's iridescent qualities.
Excellent condition with each fork measuring 6 1/2" in length and the box measuring 8 1/4" x 6 1/4".
