Boxed Set Twelve Victorian Fruit Knives & Forks - Mother of Pearl Handles

Description

A beautiful Victorian set of fruit or desert knives and forks, lovely to find a complete set of twelve; with stunning Mother of Pearl or Nacre handles with it's iridescent quality.

The set for twelve comes in it's original solid English Oak presentation box and complete with working tasseled key; the inside is inset with an engraved Ivory plaque for the retailer's Nathan & Co., Birmingham. Each knife bears the makers mark J S * S and EP for Electro-Plated. The front of each knife and a very elegant engraved edge.

All in excellent condition. The knives measuring 7 3/8" long and the forks, 5 7/8" long. The presentation box measures 15 1/4" x 8" x 2 1/2". Dating to the late Victorian era, c.1890/1900.
