A Late 19th Century Ebonised Upholstered Nursing Chair, Aesthetic Movement.

An elegant late 19th century, circa 1880-1890, Ebonised mahogany Arsthetic Movement nursing chair or slipper chair. A refined bedroom chair with a 100% cotton, button back pale grey/eau de nil fabric and decorated with gilt bronze rosettes to the frame.

A robust and structurally excellent chair, with well supported recent upholstered fabric, a very enjoyable chair with considerable decorative and practical use.

A versatile bedroom, bathroom, dressing room chair traditionally whilst equally at home on a landing, a day or bedroom chair.

A distinctive Aesthetic Movement chair in mostly very good condition.

Please note there is evidence of a historic front joint repair as featured in the photos and whilst the fabric is probably a professional addition in the last 10-20 years, it has had light use and shows some minimal wear with a small spot towards the front as featured, we have not attempted to remove it. The wear is minimal and not a distraction but we have to highlight for purposes of transparency. Considered in mostly all round very good condition.
