The English Interior has dated this Derby Porcelain Stag Figure to the 18th Century.
Impressive of unusually large scale, these figures were manufactured in Derby, England c.1765.
Both stags are recline upon naturalistic rock work and grass bases. Each is finely painted in slightly different subdued tones, with spotted highlights on their fur.
A rare pair and each has survived in a remarkable state of conservation, with very minor nibbles mentioned for accuracy
