Burmantofts majolica jardinière and stand commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897.

Modelled in low relief in a brown-amber majolica glaze, with national flower motif inside a border decorated with crowns, on a column style pedestal.

The planter features "VICTORIAN CORONATION 1837" & DIAMOND JUBILEE 1897" across its bands.

Stamped to base ‘BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE ENGLAND’ for the famous Leeds based firm, plus stamped with the model no. 1949 and the letter T’.

Circa 1897.
