Patrick Moorhead Antiques has dated this Japanese Imari Porcelain Charger to the 19th Century.
Surrounding this are intricately patterned borders incorporating geometric diaper designs, floral roundels and decorative cartouches. The broad rim features finely detailed figural panels alongside landscape scenes depicting traditional bridges, rivers, buildings and elegantly dressed figures. The reverse is decorated in underglaze blue with scrolling foliage, geometric borders and character marks. A wonderfully vibrant and highly decorative example of Japanese Meiji-period porcelain craftsmanship throughout.
