Regency Gilt Wood Striped Silk Upholstered Chaise

Description

Diminutive and high quality upholstered Regency or French Empire design chaise/sofa of scrolling classical design circa 1820

The frame is parcel gilt with decorative inlaid panels at each end of the seat rail, and the whole is supported by four robust turned gilt wood legs which feature tiered detailing.

This fine piece of antique furniture is traditionally upholstered throughout in a red and cream raw silk striped fabric, which is further complimented by a full seat squab and two cylindrical bolster cushions with gathered buttoned ends.

The petite dimensions of this piece make it well suited to a small sitting room, or indeed placed at the foot of a bed.

Measures: 150 cm long, 57 cm deep and 72 cm at its highest point.
