A lovely antique tribal rug, woven by the Lors tribe circa 1900. The design features a single floral medallion on a deep indigo field surrounded by an ivory border. Fabulous secondary colours including golds and a particularly unusual green - a great example of tribal weaving

This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear. Fringes have been over bound, selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.

Luri rugs are crafted entirely from hand-spun wool for both warp and pile, dyed using natural plant and mineral extracts to produce tones of terracotta, indigo, ochre, and green.
