Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Zardozi is an elaborate embroidery technique originating in Persia and popularized in India during the Mughal era. Historically crafted using gold and silver threads, this art form was traditionally used to adorn royal garments, wall hangings, and courtly textiles.

Traditional pieces utilise a woven silk ground embroidered with metallic threads known as zari, metallic wire coiled into spangles, and cotton backing. Higher-status examples often incorporate padded embroidery techniques to create three-dimensional relief motifs.

Handmade panels display slight irregularities in stitch tension, hand-knotted thread ends on the reverse, and unique hand-drawn guidelines beneath the embroidery. Authentic metallic threads often show natural oxidisation or tarnish over time rather than modern synthetic shine.

Framed textile art works well as a focal point above a console table or sideboard to add warmth and tactile texture. Pairing intricate embroidered fabrics with modern minimalist furniture creates a balanced contrast between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary lines.

Silk textiles should be mounted behind UV-filtering protective glass with acid-free backing to prevent fading and material degradation. Display the piece in a climate-controlled room away from direct sunlight and areas of high humidity.
