London City Antiques has dated this Edwardian Silver Plated Tray to the 1900s.
This impressive oval tray is beautifully made in electroplated silver on copper and features an exceptionally decorative engraved centre, richly worked with scrolling foliage, flowers and elaborate cartouche ornament.
Raised on four small bun feet, it has a wonderful substantial quality and makes a particularly attractive piece for serving drinks, displaying decanters and glassware or simply as a decorative centrepiece.

The underside bears the Mappin & Webb maker's mark together with Mappin Plate, Made in England and E.P. on Copper.
Mappin & Webb is one of Britain's most celebrated names in fine silver and luxury goods. The firm's history dates back to the 18th century, developing into Mappin & Webb during the 19th century and becoming internationally renowned for its exceptional silverware, jewellery and tableware. The company has held numerous Royal Warrants and supplied prestigious clients in Britain and around the world. Antique Mappin & Webb silver and silver-plated wares remain sought after for their quality of manufacture and elegant English design.
