Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kakiemon style refers to a decorative aesthetic originating in Japan, characterised by asymmetrical compositions, delicate foliage, quail or bird motifs, and a specific palette including iron-red, turquoise, and soft blue enamels over an off-white ground.

Early Bow porcelain was crafted from soft-paste porcelain mixture often containing bone ash, clay, and ground frit glaze, finished with hand-painted enamel colours applied over the glaze.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit a warm, creamy tone, soft-paste body translucency under transmitted light, slight glaze irregularities, and hand-painted enamel details consistent with mid-18th-century workshop handiwork.

This piece can be mounted on a dark painted wall using plate hangers, displayed upright on a plate stand atop a sideboard, or placed inside a glass cabinet to introduce historic texture.

Dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or pony hair brush. Avoid immersion in water, scrubbing, or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can degrade fragile overglaze enamels.
