Opus Antiques has dated this Georgian Treen Sewing Clamp to the Georgian era.
The top had a pot with a motto on the lid,
' This Ramsgate Gift I beg you take, and keep it for the donors sake'.

The lid pulls off for storage.
The castle tops unscrew for storage of needles.. There is also a castellated tape/ ribbon dispenser. The finial on the top turns to wind the unmarked silk ribbon in and out.
It's a very neat and compact size only measuring 13cm h x 7cm w at the widest part .
A very good example of a Georgian Tunbridge Ware sewing clamp and accessories.
